Does Regeneration stack?

If a character have two separate sources of regeneration, say perhaps Trollskin Armour and Longtooth Shifting, and both are active at the same time, do their values essentially "stack" or would the character only receive the higher of the two?

page 293 PHB says no, only the highest would apply at any one time.

Well it actually says

Not Cumulative: If you gain regeneration from more than one source, only the largest amount of regeneration applies.

also remember it stops working when you have 0 or less hit points
