Does Shield provide 3/4 cover???

I got a player who says that shield provides 3/4 cover and that it gives him bonus' to AC beyond what it says as well as NO AoO.

Is this true? Does he now not suffer AoO when he casts shield??

Check the errata (or is it the FAQ?) It provides +7 cover bonus to AC. Nothing more. Bonus to reflex saves, no protection from AoOs.

Depends. Do you accept the D&D FAQ as errata to the rules?

The spell itself is clear in that it grants 3/4 cover.
The FAQ is clear in that it is supposed to be just a +7 cover bonus to AC.

The change in the FAQ has not made it into the official errata.

I happen to agree with the ruling in the FAQ, and have house ruled the spell in my home game to match it.
