Does your DM roll behind a screen or head to head?

I haven't voted as the poll doesn't work - it should either be DM do you roll in front of your players? with that potential set of responses or Roll behind a screen.

That's me too. I split the difference between the 1st and 4th choice.

I'll third that. All combat rolls are in the open (except full concealment miss chance when the enemy isn't pinpointed), but a lot of search/spot/etc rolls I make behind the screen.

I got tired of GMs fudging the dice rolls several years ago in some campaigns where the PCs (we!) apperantly never could die! Took a lot of the excitement out of it.

For the ones that they should not see, they happen behind the screen.

I am terribly inconsistent on all the other.

Ditto that--I'll skip the poll but give you an answer. I roll behind the screen most of the time. Mostly because I have lots of papers and maps and pictures that I reference during the course of a session. However, some days I'm in a mood to play on the table, so I fold up the screen and roll in front of God and everyone. It's nice to break things up once in a while. At least I think so--can't speak for my players.

It has never been an issue.
