Does your gaming group do anything special for Halloween?

Back when I used to get to play many years ago my group would play Ravenloft for Halloween. During one of the sessions one of the players was wondering down a hall and was getting all creeped out. He asked what he could see and when he moved his miniature into one room I got into my prep box of minis, built up a little atmosphere, hiding the miniature from him till the last moment and then saying "You see that, to scale with your mini. I had placed a 4" long tarantula on the minis mat.

He fainted, so I guess I succeeded. Jill (one of the players) screamed so shrilly she could have woke the dead. Scare over with I put the real spider away and put a mini in it's place while the players woke up Tom.

Yes, a long time ago I was a epic rat bastard DM.

I am planning a ritual slau...

errr...

I mean, I am setting up a game for my players, same as usual, just as I do every two weeks ;)

I was once running a PS game and I offered a level for any character whose player came dressed as that character. It was a blast, considering we had a half-modron/half-githzerai (LOOONNGG story) and a wierd looking tiefer who came dressed to the hilt. The tiefer's player even glued (with REAL glue) tiny horns to his forehead that once removed, brought along quite a bit of skin with them....

Ah...those were the days....

Nope. Halloween isn't very big here in Australia. (One would say, almost non-existent, except for the multiple Halloween episodes of the Simpsons that have been showing every day this week...)

Cheers!

Capellan is running a special Halloween adventure for us. Can't wait!

Damn you Bostonites, give us back our DM :)

Last year I was playing in Capellan's game. This year it happens to be the date for our regular DnD session, so I'll be doing a Halloween theme for the session.

My friend Jason tries to run a halloween adventure every year. It is usually the only time he DMs.

We played just this past Sunday. It was really scary. We encountered bat-men when we were picking blood-fruit. A man who raised chiders (chickens with spider legs and sharp beaks). And a candyland house where a deranged fat clown with most of his makeup smeared off. He had a vorpal butcher knife. One player and I lost an arm, and the other PC a leg.

We were able to get all the ingredients and make the cure for a plague caused by a swarm of flies.

Peace and smiles :)
