D&D 5E Doing 5ed without classes.

Branch out to other RPGs. They have what you want and it's very worth it to try other things
Dungeon Fantasy not only has point values for everything, which makes it sensible to purchase traits like Extra Attack 2 that you can't get via feats in 5E, but it also has FP (fatigue) as a universal resource that all characters have to fuel special abilities such as e.g. dragonborn breath weapons, spells, and magic items that let you cast spells (a token for bringing the dead temporarily back to life to answer questions).

Personally I like that Dungeon Fantasy has profession templates (effectively classes) because it makes characters feel more realistic and preserves replay value, but it's easier to drop professions from a system that was originally built by superimposing professions on a freeform system (GURPS) than to to retrofit one onto 5E.
