D&D 5E Doing Sponsorships in 5e

I really liked X-Crawl and want to do something similar, but trying to figure out how having a sponsor to go through a dungeon or race would change the dynamic.

What benefits should you get from it.
What limitations should having a sponsor should affect your actions.

I'm aiming for about a cr 5 starting group, but trying to give it some finagling.

I would go with "The sponsor has a specific theme and wants you to follow it."

Sponsored by Sigurd Snowson's Skiing Resort? Your goal is to make sure at least 1/3 of all battle spells cast are themed with ice or snow, so that the announcer has plenty of prompts to remind people that their best skiing vacation is with Sigurd Snowson's!

Using a brand new +1 sword from the Halstead Constortium? The wielder is required to make a performance check as a bonus action after every kill to flash the sword conspicuously at the camera - even if he's still fighting.

Petunia's Potions? You may only use potions provided by Petunia, and she picks what she wants you to advertise this run - and you must use all of them in meaningful ways. Maybe you get only one healing potion but four potions of Invisibility or Spider Climb...
