That's the challenge with these sorts of things.

I know I could convert the Pirate Borg classes to Shadowdark super-quickly, for instance, but if I put what I've done out there in the world, doesn't that harm Limithron?

I have similar concerns over converting monsters, treasure, spells, etc., for other systems. I'm more comfortable doing conversions than most people, I think, so putting that stuff out there would likely be helpful to a lot of people, but taking away even part of the financial incentive for people to make their original content that I then convert isn't something I ever want to do.

(If any companies want to have me convert their content to Shadowdark and then have them publish that themselves, I'd be thrilled to do so. I actually reached out to one company that had expressed fondness for Shadowdark about the idea but never heard back.)

I don't understand how converting monsters would be a problem. Wouldn't access to those monsters in one's system of choice increase the chance people who wouldn't otherwise have bought the thing do so? Wasn't that the whole method behind the 5E Kingmaker bestiary?

Paizo sold that bestiary.

I'm talking about doing the equivalent of a for-profit bestiary for something like The Stygian Library, Beyond the Pale or Reach of the Roach God, which feels problematic.

Dolmenwood looks amazing and I will get a hard copy at some point. I have the OSE slip case already; would I be okay just buying the Campaign Book, or is worth grabbing it all and selling OSE? I don't think I would want to have both.

Dolmenwood has modified the official OSE rules to be a bit easier to understand (everything is roll high and standardized on a d6, outside of attack rolls and damage, plus all the different classes it has over OSE that are Dolmenwood-specific. You could probably get away with just the Campaign book, but you’d be missing out on all the Glamours/Rune magic, and unique equipment lists as well.

I think OSE: Advanced has enough extra stuff that DW does not have that I personally would rather keep both.

Gotcha. I misunderstood. I thought folks were worried about fan conversions.
