I dunno about you, but were I dominated, and given those orders, it would be very much acting like myself to kill said dominator, to gain my freedom.

But if you are acting like yourself, then you wouldn't know/think/feel that you were dominated. Unless when you really are yourself, you always think you are dominated anyway. In which case I would advise you seek mental help

That's why I think the person itself should not be aware of it.

Their mind resists, but they have no full control, like if their minds are only half-aware of everything happening... it's like one big, bad dream. That's how I see it, at least.

You have a mental link to the dominated creature - it's not much of a stretch to assume, that the 'basics' would be established automatically ('don't attack me, don't speak about your condition') .
