Domination... all day?

Domination is a rather difficult ability for the DM to control, if and when his PCs gain access to it. For starters, the victims are Dominated for days! On the other hand, if you're a telepath, that's all you're going to be doing.

Do you make your PCs share XP when using Dominate for more than one day?

Why not? Finger of dead also kills you for more than just a couple of hours (and it's more difficult to "dispel" that!)

You know, up until 3rd Edition, that was the case for charm person at 1st level, which could last for weeks or even months! There are plenty of DMs, in fact, ticked off because of the change, who don't understand why a standard plot device (evil NPC charming civil leader indefinitely) was taken away from them...

Domination. As long as the character is dominated and the order is against the character's nature, he gets another saving throw.

Dominating a pc and having him attack his own people would give him another saving throw.

While it can potentially last days, each round that he has to fight his friends, he has to make a saving throw. When he finally saves, he doesn't attack his friends anymore.

Until the duration fades, the caster can still command the pc , even if he/she thought it is over with.

Makes for a very good disruption in their sleep for days. hehehehe
