I figure I'll add my 2cp to the minor political debate here...

I am NOT for sending soldiers overseas to do this stuff. In fact, I wish those boys were back home gaming with their friends in the states. But, since I dont' make that decision, I'm willing to support them being somewhat happy while they're away and helping them have some fun while they're hard at work.

There's a difference between not liking the political adgenda of the situation, and feeling for the people stuck in the situation. THAT is why I sent dice.

Well said.

And that will be the end of the political portion of this thread, please. It has the "thumbs up" from the Admins and Moderators; if you don't agree with the (nonpolitical and generous) sentiment behind it, please just move on to the next discussion. Thanks!

I've been out all day long....

...but it looks like things have been busy here! They have with the donations too. I now have received monetary donations that will allow us to send 7 more sets! That brings our total to:

28 out of 30!!! :D

So, showing off my math prowess - we need just 2 more sets! Woo-hoo! :D:D:D

Woo-hoo!!! We did it!!!

We've reached our goal of 30 sets!!!

I just received a monetary donation that put us over the top!:D

I'd like to thank everyone who donated and supported this effort. Thanks also to Chessex for their donation of 30 sets and to Kris Southerland (Jalea) who is also going to donate 30 of his brand new solid pewter d6s! I can't wait to see those. :)

I'll contact RPG Host tomorrow morning and get everything finalized. I'll be taking pictures of all the donated materials once we get the dice from the EN World store, and I'm going to include a letter explaining who we are and how all of this came about.

Thanks again everyone! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

What about donating dice/books/sundries to those of us who aren't military, but make less money than they do?

Sign up at the nearest Army recruitment office.

(Really, be glad that you have a choice about joining the military - personally, I will be drafted in January...)

Actually, I don't, for health reasons, but thanks for sharing!
