The title says it all: can you apply the WFinesse feat with a double weapon when TWF with it?

Hi!

Double weapons are not light weapons per se. I'd assume that you can't use Weapon Finesse even when two-weapon fighting.

Keep it simple.

Just my two coppers... ;)

Kind regards

I see your point, but the SRD states.

Normally, you treat a double weapon as a one-handed weapon and a light weapon.

I'd allow you to finesse the one blade of the weapon, i.e. the offhand which is treated as a light weapon. Similarly you can only Power Attack with the primary side.

Eh, DnD isn't real. If a player is willing to invest: TWF, EXWP: Double Bladed Sword, & Weapon Finesse then I'd be more than willing to let them have it.

After all, the game's about having fun right? Besides, they still don't do a great deal of damage with a high-dex/low-str build.

By the RAW, only the 'off hand' side of the double weapon uses weapon finesse.

However, it's an easy way of being able to finesse weapons one normally couldn't, such as axes and maces, if you spend the EWP on the double weapon.

Would you go so far to let a halfling wield a 20-foot bastard sword in one hand, with Monkey Grip? :p

Yeah, but -- well, maybe it's my style -- I don't like putting too much Anime-style elements in my typical D&D game. Wireworks like you see in Wuxia films and Xena, but not over-the-top Anime.

Besides, I tried to induce seizure on my players with flashing colored lights during intense combat rounds. It didn't take.
