DR epic/magic

Say you have a creature with DR/epic. It's natural attacks and any weapon it wields is treated as epic for purposes of overcoming DR/epic. Does it also overcome DR/magic?

I'm pretty sure that DR/epic is another way of saying DR/+6. If that is the case, then I'd bet that it'll defeat DR/magic (which translates to DR/+1-+5).

Yes, the monster with DR X/Epic can overcome DR X/magic with its natural weapons (but not, automatically, with their attacks with manufactured weapons).

See the Monster Manual p. 307:
A few very powerful monsters, such as the solar and the terrasque, are vulnerable only to epic weapons; that is, magic weapons with at least a +6 enhancement bonus.

I look at it this way . . . could a weapon be Epic if it was not magically enchanted?

A: No

(I would extend the same ruling to natural attacks of a creature w/Epic DR and, therefore, Epic natural weapons.)

I asked this same question to the panel of 3.5E designers at GenCon 2003, and they said yes, a creature with epic DR strikes as epic for purposes of overcoming DR, and that this penetrated DR/magic.
