Shown tonight. Quite cool. Humanoid/spider alien seems to have been largely inspired by Lolth. Catherine Tate (UK impressionist) was good as a one off companion. Followed by next season trailer, including a Black Dalek right at the end. So I am pleased to see the Dalek's are back for season 3 in 2007.

Followed by a trailer for the Sarah Jane Adventures, from which I was also pleased to see that K9 will be appearing in that new series as I had hoped.

I kinda liked it. The second half was distinctly better than the first (basically, everything after the big spider showed up).

My opinion of Catherine Tate has not been improved by this episode - it made me miss Rose significantly more than I did before.

The trailer for the next season looked spectacular.

Last year's Christmas special was an hour long. You're probably thinking of the Children in Need special, which showed the immediate aftermath of Nine's regeneration, as opposed to the episode with the Robot Santas.
