Dr Who Xmas Special 06

It was on SciFi earlier. I missed it. It was an hour and a half long.

This year's Christmas Special? Are you sure? The one with the giant red spider-woman and the TARDIS/car chase? Plus it ran from 7pm-8pm here, so only an hour long, not an hour and half.

Fun episode - we watched both that and the BBC Doctor Who Concert. Catherine Tate managed to be not as annoying as I thought she'd be, and the TARDIS in the car chase was excellent.

I can't wait for the new series!

Plus, when The Doctor wipes out the enemy race - the expression on his face.

One word... EXCELLENT.

This episode featured everything Doctor Who is known for, fantastic sci fi concepts, out of this world creatures, bundle of laughs  , and most importantly, some genuinely emotional moments. :(

Truth be told, I still preferred last years Christmas special over this. It's just not the same without Billie Piper as Rose, though Catherine Tate as Donna aquits herself well. I can understand though why people find her annoying, but I find her absolutely hysterical here. Great interactions with Tennant. Also, the last Christmas special had more of a sense of dread, whereas the tone here is a bit more tongue of cheek (not that I'm complaning :D ).

And while I still prefer Christoper Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, there's no denying how brilliant David Tennant is as the Tenth. And he's especially great here, showing bits and pieces of the Doctor's sense of loneliness after losing Rose. It's also a kick to see him bring out a darker side of the Doctor's especially in the scene SPOILERS where he drowns the Arachnos queen's children (but did he really need to empty the Thames to do that?) :p SPOILERS.

So anyway, brilliant way to start the new season, and I look forward to the coming episodes. Especially since that preview in the end had me salivating! :D

I dunnno, The shaft went all the way down to the center of the earth...I think so.

as for Sara Jane that show starts new years day

The Black Dalek was the one at the end of season 2 who does any emergency time shift when all the others were sucked into the void. Apparently either only he could do so or only he thought to do so?!?!

That would appear to be the case. Certainly, I don't imagine it's a standard Dalek power.

I think that Dalek is really a TARDIS. Yeah, that's it. :)
Well beings have travelled in time before in Doctor Who without the aid of a TARDIS. And the Daleks have always had time travel technology, so it'd be no stretch to the imagination that Dalek Thay (the black Dalek) would have one in his battle armor.

On a related note, I just wanted to mention that I'm currently reading the Doctor Who novels featuring the Eighth Doctor (played by Paul Mcgann in the FOX tv film). They're very good reads and literally (pun unintended) prove that there are no limits to where the series can go. :D
