I was kind of expecting more Lockwood pieces really...

Love the Platinum Knight and the Hidecarved Dragon.

Yeah, Lockwood is the god of dragon art (at least to me)... At least most of the other art is still good to great. And there don't seem to ne such abominable art as the MM2 gem dragons or many of the Dragonlance dragons. :)

Dragon Walking / Running by Lockwood just blows me away.

Gold Dragon and Red Dragon by Spencer are amazing as well. They really look like massive powerhouses of wisdom and malice, respectively.

Chapter 1 Start by Grant-West is worthy of an entire campaign chapter in the stories it could tell.

I noticed that there were two pictures of "Elemental Drakes" in the gallery. If there's someone around who both has the Draconomicon and the old Dark Sun MC Appendix (the first, loose-leaf one - not the second softbound), could that person check if they're the DS elemental drakes or something different?

Hm I was hoping for more Lockwood/Sam Wood art as well. As it is, Lockwood only gets a handful of art pieces and Sam Wood... he's not even in it. Now even though I'd like the book to be art just by them, since that wasn't going to happen, I'd at least like to see a good amount of the art done by them.
However, the art still looks good, Ron Spencer, Richard Sardhina, and Lars Grant West really pull out some good pieces.

Overall, the art is amazing, but... Who's that Dennis Crabapple guy? Is he Dennis Cramer renamed ? It sure looks a whole like Cramer's job.

And I don't like Cramer's style.

I'm a bit confused between the elemental drakes and the landwyrms. Judging from pictures, they seem to be the same: smaller, wingless versions of true dragons.

There's an illo for "Death Dragon". It seems to be the effect from the likenamed spell from Magic of Faerûn. Could someone tell me if it's indeed a spell (which I'm quite certain) and what were the changes compared to the original?

I can post the original for reference, BTW.

Yeah, it looks a lot like Cramer's art, however, most of his art in the book are symbols, so I guess it's not that bad.
