[Draconomicon] Grapple bonuses?

I'm having some trouble, the grapple bonuses for dragons in the sample dragons chapter seem to be all over the place. As far as I know, grapple bonus is BAB + Str mod + size mod.

Examples:

Medium dragon, bab +12, Str 15: Grapple +2. WTF?
Small dragon, bab +8, Str 13: Grapple +3. WTF?

etc.

Picked them out at random. You could do the same.

Here's one, Jalnur, the very young blue dragon.

BAB +11, Str 15, Medium size: Grapple +11.

Even better, it also has an Attack Bonus of +11!!!

I think Timmy Jackson made these stat blocks!

Or I'm going crazy.

Jalnur has only one mistake I niticed at a glance -- her BAB should be +9.

Picked them out at random. You could do the same.

There does seem to be a large number of errors in that section. I think in that the error with Jalnur is that the his BAB should be +9 not +11 (as he has 9 HD).

I like the example of Vultsubai young brass dragon HD 10, Str 15, BAB +12, Grapple Bonus +2, Attack +12.

Interesting. The black, blue, brass, and bronze dragons appear to misstate BAB -- they add the Str and size modifiers. I assume the same person wrote them...

The copper, gold, green, red, silver, and white dragons don't make that mistake.

I assume the dragons were assigned to two people, one of which assumed 'base attack' means the attack bonus without Weapon Focus or weapon enhancement bonuses, and calculated appropriately.

But who out of that author list would make such a mistake?
