Dark Psion
First Post
The current issue of Dragon Magazine (# 302) contains a new prestige class called the Tainted.
It is a person corrupted by the essence of a fiend. The article includes all of the denizens of the lower planes, with one notable exception, The Cerebrilith from the Psionic Handbook.
A Psion or a Psychic Warrior could be “tainted” by the essence of a Cerebrilith or could actually accept the taint as a path to greater power. They would use the Tainted Spellcaster Advancement table on page 39, gaining +1 manifester level in the place of +1 caster level. Those tainted by a Cerebrilith become reclusive, focusing on developing their psychic powers, but feel a need to prove themselves against other psionic opponents. Note: If he manifests the granted powers below with power points, he gains a fiend point (see page 34).
They would also gain the following;
Fiendish Power I: Power Boost (Ex): The Tainted gains a one-time boost in psionic power points. He gains a +20 power point bonus to his total.
Minor Physical Change: His skeleton gains bone mass, stretching his skin to it’s limits and bone spurs develop on his elbows and ankles. Also, he constantly sweats and perspires.
Fiendish Power II: He discovers the psionic powers Brain Lock and Ectoplasmic Form and he may manifest each twice per day for free as a Spell-Like ability.
Moderate Physical Change: His brain grows and causes his skull to fracture and reveals his brain in spots here and there on his head.
Fiendish Power III: Telepathy (Su): Can communicate with any creature that has a language within 50 feet. Also, he discovers the power Teleport without Error and can manifest it freely once per day as a Spell-Like ability.
Major Physical Change: His brain and spine grow dramatically causing a hunch to form on his back and more parts of his brain are exposed to view along the hunch. The Tainted now walks hunched over all the time, but this does not affect his movement rate.
Fiendish Power IV: He discovers the power Mass Domination and can manifest it freely five times per day as a Spell-Like ability.
