Man, I need to buy that CD. What does the article have to say?

I've just install it on my computer again... lets see...

There will be four major groups in which women may enter. They may be FIGHTERS, MAGIC USERS, THIEVES and CLERICS. They may progress to the level of men in the area of magic and, in some ways, surpass men as thieves. Elven women may rise especially to high levels in clerics to the elves. Only as fighters are women clearly behind men in all cases but even they have attributes that their male counterparts do not!
Characteristics;
Strength one 8 sided die and one 6 sided die.
Wisdom, Intelligence, Dexterity and Constitution all use three 6 sided dice. (Any woman scoring 13 or 14 in strength may add 1 to her constitution score.)
Instead of Charisma BEAUTY is rated on two 10 sided dice numbered
Prime Requisites
Wisdom for clerics
Intelligence for Magic Users
Strength for Fighters (except that ‘average’ is not 7-10 and not 9-12)
Dexterity for Thieves
Intelligence is important to upper level thieves when magic is used Beauty and exceptional Beauty (15-18) (19-20) are important to thieves, fighters and magic users. Clerics may not use beauty if they are lawful or neutral. Chaotic Clerics may use their beauty score....

and it gets worse.

Eh, I don't see what the problem is. I mean, I'd like to think everyone here is above the "Tee-hee! Look--you can see a nipple!" age. Or the equally childish "Gasp! I'm outraged--you can see a nipple!" age.

PS: or the "Giggle! Zaruthustran typed 'nipple'!" age.

I think we might want to move out of the "your reason isn't a very good one" and into the "any reason why you don't buy a product is a personal choice."

Greetings!

Hmmm...a different style, a different approach. What's so wrong about having different stats for male and female creatures? I would think it is quite obvious that there are salient differences and that they are not equal in every way. In the end though, what's the problem? If male characters can have X strength, and female characters can have strength 1 point lower as a maximum, so what? I don't know anyone who gets into a tizzy over such scintillia. It's just a game.

Just to feed this, it was actually 4 pts lower not 1 point, (1d8+1d6 is a 2 to 14 range), which in old AD&D ment that a female character could never get any effective bonus to hit or damage from Strength.

Also why Beauty instead of Charisma? Is it because it doesn't matter what a woman says so long as she looks nice?

Its not that it isn't PC its just plain wrong.

Greetings!

Ok Bagpuss.:) I was thinking of the 18/50 for females, and the 18/00 for males. Not too much difference in my book, do you see?

On the beauty/charisma thing--what was that all about? I agree, it seems strange. What is the purpose, you know?

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK
