Basically they offer up some ideas as Specialist Fighters (much like a Specialist Wizard). The short of it is that you give up something (perhaps heavy armor proficiency and shield proficiency) and a slightly different list of available bonus feats.
In return, you may select a special ability (provided under each specialization) in lieu of a bonus fighter feat. Some have prereqs and all have to do with the general specialization.
Off of the top of my head they had; Bodyguard, Commander, Corsair, Exoticist, Fenser, Horseman, Kensai, Knight, Pugilist, Shield Bearer, Survivalist, and Targetteer.
All in all I think it is a very interresting approach. I didn't notice any thing that syncs up with a two-weapon fighter right away.
Oh yeah, they also had different class skill lists. Just like a Wizard Specialist you cannot multiclass into straight Fighter after becoming one of these specialists.
