Wow. That looks like a good issue. I may pick it up. Since I'm one of the ones who often says, "Dragon's not interesting, anymore," I just figured that I'd throw at that this one actually sounds good.

It's the setting of the novels of China Mieville (Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Iron Council).

edit: I remembered vaguely that someone had mentioned there was going to be an article about this in Dragon at some point. I may have gotten it mixed up with something else though.

Can you give a brief overview of the Favored Spawn of Kyuss?

Favored Spawn usually represent Kyuss's direct influence. They can create normal Spawn the same way their lesser cousins do, but they have another, grappling attack where they basically shove their face in yours and let multiple worms enter you, making you into another Favored Spawn. They have a few other worm-infecting powers, in addition to a couple other special abilities to boot.

Also in terms of Kyuss, do we get like a CD writeup of him?

That's exactly the format it's in. There's even a picture of the (disgusting) unholy symbol. It's interesting to note that his herald is Dragotha himself. Note that, as of this article, Kyuss has risen from a hero god to become a demigod.

A human skull with writhing worms in the mouth and eye sockets. Blech!

What other special abilities do the Favored Spawn of Kyuss get? More DR?

They have Create Spawn (normal spawn of Kyuss), a Fear Aura, Foul Embace (the face-to-face thing I mentioned above), and Kyuss's Gift (natural attacks cause disease). Favored Spawn with 10 or more hit dice gain one of the following: Infested Skin (striking them with natural or light weapons gets a worm on you), Noxious Breath (breath weapon attack), or Wormburst (worms explode from them in a 10-ft. radius). They get DR 5/silver (10/silver if 10 or more hit dice), fast healing 5, and turn resistance +3.

Regarding the Demonomicon articles, any mention of Orcus or does it just highlight Iggy's lover as well as only a few foes?

Also, do they have stats for anything that's summoned? What special powers does reading the book give?
