Dragon: Best of or Annuals?

Well, we would certainly love to be able to do something like that. Unfortunately, there simply isn't enough time in a day or enough days in a week to put out a thirteenth Dragon every year.

Now, if you could make 36-hour days and 10-day weeks...well...we'd probably just be too exhausted, but at least we'd have enough time.
And yet oddly enough, Annuals 1-5 were produced with neither 36-hour days nor 10-day weeks. Funny, huh? I wonder how they used to get done back then?

I've got the Best of Dragon 1-5 and found them to be excellent reference magazines over the years.

I would buy a new one that had content along the same lines. many of them reproduced articles that had already appeared in Dragon Magazine.

I would especially like if some of this data that was much-loved in pre 3.5 or 3.0 versions was updated to 3.5 for current use.

Don't bring it back. It's not worth the headache.

I too thought that then WotC's Periodical Department overreacted to the negative reaction of the last Dragon Annual but as time goes on, I feel that it is the right decision overall. Makes no business sense making another issue a year that subscribers want to get it for free.

I'm not so much interested in an annual as I am more "best ofs". I still have my original 1e best of issues, and drag them out and read them from time to time. The Anti-paladin was the first character I ever rolled up (yeah yeah..only for NPC's...whatevah), and played him for many happy years.

I'd love to see collections of the PrC's, spells, feats, magic items, and monsters in one convenient volume. It's such a huge hassle to have to dig through my magazines to find that one article with that one spell you want that one really cool PrC to have.

rant rant rant...
