Tonight. Living on precious time (or borrowed time like Danger Wicki :D )? Tivo the movie and just check out the dragon cgi like I do with bad movies that have dragons in them. In fact, there's a whole slew of movies on the Sci-Fi Channel today featuring dragons, some bad, some not-so-bad. :)

Sounds like a chromatic and metallic mill run here. ;)

Half an hour in and there's been a couple of brutally violent acts, such as the
kneed sword to the throat
and the
dragon snatching up the guy and splitting him while in flight
. My first impression, though, is that the movie need not have been set in an actual historical period. The dragon cgi is good but nothing revolutionary yet. Scenic locations are very nice so far. Otherwise, I'm generally enjoying it so far.

Competent acting but cheesy script. Good locations but the stunts always looked too posed (particularly when
the blacksmith got fried
). Some of the dragon cgi was pretty good. Well, I'll give it 4 out of 10 stars on IMDb just for the sporadic carnage. :)

I didn't see this, but I did see the promos and it made me wonder - why doesn't Sci-Fi ever show (or co-produce) fantasy movies from Asia? I mean, there's a fairly robust film industry there, instead of producing faux-asian ones (which I guess was actually filmed in East Europe?), why not make/show some real ones? (Yeah, I know they sometimes show Kaiju movies late at night. But those aren't particularly serious movies, for the most part)

I'm not saying all the movies from there are great, but most are much, much better than standard Sci-FI channel fare, and it seems like such a waste. Instead of showing the same movies over and over, they could have more variety.

I tried watching this, but 30 minutes in I was toying with the remote, by 45 minutes I had changed channels.

It looks like there was some good effort put into the look of the film, but the story and dialogue were cringe-worthy. Why can't Sci-Fi find any good writing for their 'originals'?
