[Dragon] Thanks for the screen!

The 3.5e DM's screen included with issue #310 is the best Dragon freebie since the mini-Dungeon magazine in issue #155 (the one that contained the excellent Crypt of Istaris adventure).

I expected a flimsy 3-panel screen, and instead got a sturdy 4-panel screen with great exterior art and useful interior info. In terms of look, feel and utility, this screen is substantially better than the official 3.0 screen that I bought on its own.

Thank you. :)

"Sturdy"???

* throws his 3.5e screen to his dog and let it rip *

Nope, not sturdy. I gotta have a screen strong enough to handle my dog's playfulness ... as well as my angry players' dice-pelting (since we banned tomatoes from the kitchen table).

As for the screen content, feh. Just a hodge-podge of charts and tables put together to fill space, not exactly organized for gaming purpose, mind you. I kinda like the most essential, most useful charts and lists placed on the middle two panels, like actions, grappling instructions, attack & AC modifiers, etc. The two side panels can list the skills and appropriate skill modifier charts as well weapon and armor stats.

Also they could have used two more side panels on the outside for both players and DM information.

Arrgh! Dragon isn't here yet!

As long as it's sturdy enough to withstand the wrath of a ceiling fan, I'm happy. If it's not, it's okay.

The screen is (almost) free!

Cheers!

Relatively sturdy, then -- for a freebie, it's sturdy. Could it be better? Absolutely -- I still prefer my old CoC screen, or the FR DM's screen -- but it's definitely better than average, and it was a nice surprise. As a promo item, it rocks.

I think its great. i don't care for the ad at the bottom of the screen for the mini game [now it may be a nice scoop, later on it wil be wasted space]

I wil be using some clear laminate to have it last longer.

I think " a deserved rest" would make a good title for the art. ;)

thumbs up pazio!

I prefer 'only art' player side panels. This way you can use a word program to make new tables as editions change[too bad i lost all my pre 3e DM screens! :( sniff...] . Also only players RIGHT next to the dm benafit from a player side data panel.

I absolutely love this new screen! Free, fairly sturdy, and KICK ASS artwork! The charts are kinda ho-hum, but you know, I could always hope and pray that angra-blah-blah makes some 3.5 reference sheets and just put them up on the inside of the screen.

Thanks, Paizo!
