Premium TTRPG accessory maker Beadle & Grimm's has provided new details about the maps found in the upcoming Dungeon Master's Guide. Today, Beadle and Grimm's announced a new premium map collection featuring the maps found in the upcoming Dungeon Master's Guide. This set will contain 30 battle maps, all of which are "full-color realizations" of the black and white maps found in the appendix of the upcoming Core Rulebook. Additionally, Beadle and Grimm's map collection will include 2 canvas maps showing the City of Greyhawk and Eastern Oerik, along with a DM screen made specifically for the Greyhawk setting.

Wizards previously stated that the new Dungeon Master's Guide would include a Greyhawk setting guide and maps, but the 30 battle maps are new information and are assumably tied to the various mini-adventures also found in the new rulebook. The new Dungeon Master's Guide will also include revamped magic items, new rules for Bastions, and a Lore Glossary. The book will be released in November.

The 30 maps include the following:

Barrow Crypt Lower Level

(LOS ANGELES, CA – September 26, 2024)
– Beadle and Grimm’s, a champion of the tabletop roleplaying game experience, announced today the unveiling of a premium map collection featuring the maps found in the appendix of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS’ highly anticipated new Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Featuring a box that opens book style, with a magnetic closing panel, this collection includes:

30 battle maps: B&G has commissioned artists to create full-color realizations of the black and white maps provided in the appendix of the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide. Epic battles deserve epic battle maps, and these large, sturdy maps are gridded for mini use.

2 canvas area maps: These maps of the City of Greyhawk and Eastern Oerik are 21x30” and printed on durable canvas.

DM screen: Greyhawk is a rich and intricate setting filled with power struggles and ever-shifting loyalties. This unique DM screen immerses the players into that world with epic art on the front while providing DM’s at-a-glance reference tables on the back. DM’s will be able to quickly rattle off Greyhawk details like the gods of the realm, the calendar, geography, and important names without missing a beat.

The Premium Map Collection can be pre-ordered at a discounted price for $144 until Sunday, October 6th, 2024. After the preorder sale period, the box will retail for $160.

“These 30 battle maps can be used and reused in virtually any classic D&D setting. However, the world of Greyhawk is featured in the highly awaited 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide and if you’re planning to run a campaign set that world, or are simply a fan of that setting, then you’ll love the canvas maps and DM Screen,” said Jon Ciccolini, Beadle & Grimm’s lead on the product.

$140 for maps, are you sure? Why, we can just take the included image files and pdf, go down to our print shop...and...

pdf intensifies

Oh. Oooooooooh. ;)
Actually this doesn't matter. If you have the Beyond version you can just save the Images to a PDF. The biggest challenge is resizing them so they are accurate. The other issues is that printing large maps tends to be fairly costly, or if your print shop won't do it.

I wanted printed maps for my Dragonlance campaign, but the Print shop said they would not do it, and so I did it at my local Library, resizing, printing them piece by piece, and taping ledger sized sections of maps together. It ended up being fairly expensive over the course of the Campaign. So when I started Phandelver and Below as my next campaign, buying the Beedle and Grim Boxset was worth it in every way.

How are they? I keep thinking that I want to give one a shot, but I wonder if they hit the sweet spot of "worth every extra penny".
They are nice. Tons of maps (but not all maps). If an overland map is included it's usually printed on nice canvas materials. Each one comes with extras, medallions or pins, DM screen, extra adventure written by B&G. Some of the more recent ones have included prepainted minis. The Vecna one for example included the rod of 7 parts on nice thick plastic in several pieces.

The adventure itself is split up into different books with handouts.

I am not Beyond enough for Beyond.

Or is it that I'm Beyond Beyond?

Now you've confused me. ;)
