Dragon with a Cloak of Charisma...

Hi all, If I have a dragon that can cast sorcerer spells (any dragon of a certain age and up), it might like to utilise that "cloak of Charisma +x" it found on the last adventurer it killed. But somehow a huge dragon with a small piece of cloth around it's neck strikes me as... too odd.

Can a dragon use a cloak that is not it's size? Has anyone ever depicted a dragon as wearing a cloak??

Sure he can. For him it is a napkin of charisma. Seriously though: Yeah, he could use it, it would just look a bit silly. I tend to equip my dragons with many magic items. Some of it might look a bit weird on a creature 2-3 size categories larger than intended, but dragons look aweinspiring and grandeous no matter what they wear, so who cares.

The cloak will re-size to match its wearer. So it'll be a dragon with a full-sized cloak.

Not that that isn't any less odd...

On you or me it would. On a dragon whose already awesome charisma is further enhanced by it, it would just look awesome.

Yeah. Adding a cloak of charisma only makes a person/dragon look better. As strange as that may be.

Wasn't there a book that had alternate slots for dragons instead of the ones for bipeds? I thought it was in Draconomicon, but couldn't find it. [I did a quick look, though, so it probably is in there] If so, say that a piece of magical equipment not only changes size to fit its new master ... it also changes its ability to fit into the appropriate body slot.

While it could turn into a circus tent sized colossal cloak of charisma, I'm guessing that it might take the easier route and simply expand it's neck size to become a huge lobster-bib (or colossal designer label) of charisma.

It could be a neckwrap or scarf that happens to fill the cloak slot.

Remember Smaug from the Hobbit? I seem to remember some describtion of him laying on his treasure for so long that it "integrated" into him and becomming an armor or something... So.. Maybe such magic items doesn't nessesarily sit on a finger or around the neck, but is merely integrated into the Scales? Would be nice flawer..

Any case, Sure dragons can use magic items and also cloaks of Charisma..
