Dragonborn/Draconic Feats, and a PRC

-Increased Sorcerer Bloodline levels (The Blood of Dragons feature from Dragon Disciple confuses me, it says that levels stack for bloodline POWERS, but then talks about spells known. Does that mean it's not just POWERS, but also bloodline feats and spells and such? If so, I think I will limit the Blood of Dragons to JUST be powers)

The way it works is this

I am a 5 Sorcerer/ 5 Dragon Disciple

My CL and effective sorcerer level for spells is 8
I gain Fear as a bonus spell at 9th
I can cast up to 4th level spells as an 8th level sorcerer
Because I can cast 4th level spells (I have 4th level spell slots) I gain Fear because the blood of the dragons class feature says I gain the bloodline bonus spell if I can cast spells of that level

I gain a level, lets say as a sorcerer, I can now cast more 4th level spells but I already have fear so I don't gain it again

I gain another level, this time for DD, this level boosts my spell casting
I can cast 5th level spells
I gain the 5th level bonus spell: Spell Resistance

The reason it is worded this way is that you can be a summoner or a bard and take this class. In which case you wouldn't normally gain bonus spells. But with the class ability you get to add them (up to the 6th level spell, Form of the Dragon 1) When you can cast spells of that level

Skipped over most of the discussion, but I wanted to add something - I just picked up Ultimate Magic, and there is a bit of love for the dragon in there. Dragon Shaman is a new druid archetype.

Yes and no, you dont get form of the dragon added to wild shape (as far as I know), your companion is a lizard or crocodile, your bonuses apply to only lizards (not even all reptiles) no breath weapon or resistances

Wild shape takes a big hit, -4 (meaning unusable till 8th level) unless you go lizard (then it is at your level) and I would have preferred a bonus feat list closer to the dragon bloodline

Don't get me wrong, you do get some nice things (I think) but it doesn't give a real feel of "I am dragon hear me roar"

Add onto this the fact dragons are not on the summon list (either one) and the archtype doesn't thrill me the way a dino shaman or wolf shaman would

If you want dragon focus, stick with a sorcerer for now, who knows what might come out in the future

Edit: Summoner is also a good candidate for dragon lover as you can shape your eidolon into one easily and can later become a copy of him
