Dragonborn Essentials stat options..anyone know for sure?

Str/Con could be a good option as Dragonborn has two racial ability tied to Con.

But I guess for that very reason WotC may hesitate to make Dragonborn into a high Con race. High Con dragonborn maybe too efficient.

Also, there are so many Str/Con races (Dwarf, Goliath & Warforged).

Considering the lack of Str/Int race (only Genasi), I vote for this combination.

It was also thought that Str/Con would be too efficient for a dwarf too.

If there is one thing we have learned, it's that Wizards doesn't care about making races (and other things) just to fit a niche. The fact that there are more Str/Con races than Str/Int races won't affect their final decision. Which will probably be Con, because it's both thematic and efficient.

I am not sure about it, because I don't think Srt/Con dwarf is "too efficient".

They have indeed the worst NADs (remember Goliath and Warforged have +1 to will. Str/Con Minotaur may be sub-per, but that is a different story). Also, we have now many feats, features, items and such which ignores speed penalty from wearing Heavy Armor. Thus, having speed of 5 is indeed a significant disadvantage.

Also, when talking about dwarfs, I cannot think of any other possible combination which is less efficient, fill the niche and thematic.

Well, part of that reasoning is based on dwarven weapon training - towards the beginning of 4th ed., there was a lot of debate on whether dwarven weapon training (and eladrin soldier, but to a lesser extent) was too good - after all, it was essentially 2+ feats (superior weapon & weapon focus) for one. The general consensus that I remember was that the feat was ballanced as it helped make dwarves/eladrin viable str based characters (fighters, warlords, melee rangers, strength clerics, etc) even though they don't have a strength boost.

Now that dwarves DO have a strength boost... such reasoning is turned on its head.

That and being able to second wind for a minor action is AWESOME.
