Dragonlance Novel Recommendations

First Post
A long time ago I read the first couple of trilogies and maybe a handful of other novels. With the new CS out, I thought I'd give a few more of them a read.

Which novels after the first two trilogies are worth a read. I 'd prefer more recent novels, and the better novels. Is the War of Souls trilogy worth jumping into, or may that be less entertaining without some background in previous novels.

Any other good recommendations would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

A couple of my friends say that 99% of the non-Weis and Hickman books are 'teh suck.' I have no personal experience with them, but that's what my friends say.

I have to agree most of the non Weis and Hickman books don't have the same quality. I liked Dragon's of Summer Flame a lot. That will put you up to the current era in Krynn.

Well, it's not a recent one, but IMHO The Legend of Huma is easily the best non-Weis & Hickman Dragonlance novel. I'm sure you can figure out what it's about.

OK, I'll look at that one.

What about that novel that intoduces dragon's of summer flame? The Second Generation, IIRC?

I liked the Dwarven Nations trilogy when I read it way back when, but then I like dwarves and I was a fair bit younger then.

I'll second The Legend of Huma. Probably the DL book I've read most often, more than Chronicles or Legends. I also liked the first book of The Elven Nations trilogy; can't remember the name though (Firstborn?). I also really like the two books on the draconians. Fun stuff.

The War of Souls is definately worth reading, though some background would probably be better.
