More specifically, has anybody else seen this and been really underwhelmed by the quality of the CGI and animation? I mean, c'mon -- the DL trailer looks like a composite of bad 80s-era rotoscoping and pithy 1990s CGI. How did this happen? Surely, DL deserves better than this

Yes, it looks horrible.

My opinion is they spent too much money on voice talent (as much as I like Keifer, I'm sure he didn't come cheap) and not enough an animators.

I know it's nitpicking but: 'After 300 years of peace ...'? I thought the post-Cataclysm period was a time of war and strife, to prepare mankind for Takhisis's return?

I just watched the trailer for the first time too. Yeah, the CGI scenes look especially poor. I'm sure I'll rent it, but now I expect to be underwhelmed. It seems all D&D movie projects are cursed . . .

Agreed. Unfortunately, I think the folks behind this movie were so hell bent to have *any* DL movie made (I mean, the DL movie site has been around since the mid 90's...) that they settled for the first shot they had. I doubt very seriously that any other animated movies will be made, and I think they ensured that the rest of us will need to wait 20 years for a decent live action/CGI adaptation to come out...
