Dragonlance versus Forgotten Realms

I also have to agree; DL isn't significantly different. I'm not sure I'd call all three of them apple pie, though -- DL is maybe apple fritters while Greyhawk and FR are apple pie. ;) There is a different feel of sorts.

That said, I can only ever run homebrews. Although Iron Kingdoms and Planescape are two settings I'd come closest to running "out of the box."

Hey, there's room for every setting, and these days, with so much ice cream and cookies, and brownies, and fried octopus and sauted snails, a guy craves good old fashioned pie now and again =)

Amen to that. It's nice to have something familiar now and again.

I've actually never played DL, only read some of the books. Initially, I had no plans of getting on board, but reading about some of these books is really tempting me.

Even if I don't play DL, I might get the Bestriary of Krynn . This appears to be a really top-notch book. Full color hardback, etc. I little pricey, I'd say ($34.95 list price for 160 pages) but worth it if it's good.

I know it's early days and the quality of SP's work is to be seen, but does anybody anticipate switching to DL because of the better support? Should WotC put out more FR stuff?
Certainly not. I think 3 products a year for FR is just right. I don't want the old days where they spewed FR products forth every month by slapping the FR logo on just about anything they produced.

Allows for detailing the world *and* leaves room for the DM.
