I was wondering if anyone hard heard anything letely, or a Gencon.
For being such a popular world, news and info on this product has been very quiet.
While I have never played in Dragonlance, the campaign sourcebook interests me greatly.

Next Summer is the projected realease with it sounding like GEN CON being the actual release date. Since that is just shy of a year away, I think people simply don't want to bother with it until that time is closer at hand. After all, there's tons of stuff out in the next three months to concentrate on!
That being said, I am looking forward to it. My guess is that it will def be HC, probably B&W, if they follow what they have done for Sov Stone. Actually I would prefer B&W, to color interior, I like the paper better and the ink is less likely to smudge.
They say, from what i have heard here and there, that RP options for all Ages of Dragonlance will be covered. Which would be very interesting.

As I understand it though..the DL core book will be produced by WOTC..so I'd expect a near $40 color hardcover.
Sovereign will then publish all subsequent material.
I personally am looking forward to it..I don't know the ins and outs of the setting as I've only read the original trilogy and at the time (early 80's) shyed away from the original modules (railroad-city)..I did buy the SAGA game a few years back and really liked the system and the setting material in that..I also bought the TotL boxed set a couple of years ago, but sold it soon after because my group wanted to play stuff besides D&D.
I always thought that DL had GREAT potential, if it was just treated as a game world first and for novels, second...seems like the new version is going to try and be in that mold.

I will probably buy the HC for the material and because it is Dragonlance. I will continue to see DL as a novels based world, till SovStone can prove otherwise.
I always have had the impression, that DL just was not a good game world. Plenty of potential, just too limited.

if you have any intention of reading the latest wiess and hickman book do not read my post.
the last book by wiess and hickman basically killed off all the major characters and the two most overbearing dieties. they have left DL a world with plenty of adventuring opportunity with little enough of the future locked in that a dm will not have to worry about the fanboys running to the novels when they think you are wrong. the time right after the latest novel seems like it has the best rpg potential of any dragonlance era. many power groups small and large fighting for turf with the bulk of the pantheon now able to grab more of the spotlight since paladine isn't a god and thakassis is dead. all i hope is that they don't screw it up.

Yes, we at Sovereign Press have been quiet about the Dragonlance Campaign Setting book, both because we've been working very hard on it and the fact that it will be published by Wizards of the Coast--who prefer that not much is revealed about products that have not been officially announced in their catalogs.
What I can tell you is that the plans for the book (currently, and subject to change) are a 320-page full-color hardcover to be released in Summer 2003. The initial book gives you everything you need to play Dragonlance in the Age of Might, Age of Despair, or Age of Mortals. Margaret Weis, New York Times best-selling author is overseeing the project.
I can also tell you that Sovereign Press will follow up immediately with product to fully support the Dragonlance line of products for the d20 System. We plan to have a full-color 224-page hardcover out in Summer 2003 as well, one that will fully flesh out the places and characters of the Age of Mortals and allow for a new campaign taking place after the novel Dragons of a Vanished Moon. We will have a 128-page adventure out in late summer or early fall which will let groups immediately jump into a campaign set in this exciting new era.

I have a basic idea what the setting is about and that is something I will have to look at more. I kinda don't like it too much as I think it's rather silly having hordes of dragons and many dragon riders...yea *that's* believeable 
Not saying fantasy is believable at all but that just seems *too* out there. I will give it another look though (more in depth and all).

Actually, don't let the title fool you. Dragonlance is not the Dragonriders of Pern! Dragon riders are few and far apart, elite warriors trained to work in conjunction with powerful (and willful) dragons. It's more of a symbiotic relationship between the two and not a Master-Mount situation.
