This is my first ever attempt at stating up a dragon, so feedback, advice on spell selection and the like would be very much appreciated.

Karondrax is the larger of the two red dragons that live in the Locura Mountains. When his father Tourvurclax was slain by the great gold wyrm Ixensvern when Karondrax was just a wyrmling, he hid, flying far to the south. There, he bred as soon as he could, and brought his new wyrmling Khuldrax back to the Locura Mountains with him. There, he hid, and plotted. He also dedicated himself to a rare path for a proud Red – the service of Tiamat. More disciplined than most of his kin, Karondrax sees things in the long term, and plots the domination and the destruction of the mortal races to the north and south.
Now Ixensvern has gone to his twilight, leaving no offspring behind him. Karondrax is just starting to put his plots into action. But a brave band of adventurers have recently killed Chiaya, one of his chief ogre magi servants, and discovered the true nature of the Demoness in the caves. Karondrax must act now in order to prevent disaster.

Breath Weapon (Su): 50’ cone, 10d10 fire, Ref DC24
Crush (Ex): Area 15’x15’, Small or smaller opponents take 2d8+13 bludgeoning damage and make Ref DC24 or be pinned.
Frightful Presence: A young adult or older dragon can unsettle foes with its mere presence. The ability takes effect automatically whenever the dragon attacks, charges, or flies overhead. Creatures within a radius of 30 feet x the dragon’s age category are subject to the effect if they have fewer HD than the dragon. A potentially affected creature that succeeds on a Will save (DC 20) remains immune to that dragon’s frightful presence for 24 hours. On a failure, creatures with 4 or less HD become panicked for 4d6 rounds and those with 5 or more HD become shaken for 4d6 rounds. Dragons ignore the frightful presence of other dragons.
Locate Object (Sp): As the spell 5/day
Spontaneous Casting: Karondrax can convert prepared spells to inflict spells.
No Chaotic or Good Spells: Karondrax can’t cast spells of an alignment opposed to Tiamat’s. Spells associated with particular alignments are indicated by the chaos, evil, good, and law descriptors in their spell descriptions.
Turn or Rebuke Undead (Su): Karondrax can rebuke or command undead 4/day.
Spells: As 7th level Cleric (Domains: Dragon/Destruction)
Typical Spells Prepared: (6/5+1/4+1/3+1/2+1; save DC 14+spell level):

Only a minor note here -- three breath weapon feats seems like a lot. At a certain level, a dragon's BW stops being a useful means of attack against prepared PCs who are of the appropriate level to attack the dragon. The feats are cool, but I might give up recover breath and take something else that might add a bit of individuality to the dragon.

EDIT: Or, those feats might be a requirement for the PrC, and I was just talking out of my butt. It's a gift, a rare gift. I'll shut up now.

And what a gift it is! I agree with you, but those are the PrC prereqs, so not much I can do about it really.

anyway, now it's time for the second of the two! I'm a bit on the fence about this, because I think that dragons without frightful prescence, DR or SR seem a bit un-dragony to me, but I need a red at roughly this CR so again, not much I can do.

Khuldrax is the scion of Karondrax, and he loves his father passionately. However, he lacks his father’s foresight and long-term vision. Already stronger and nearly as good a fighter as his father, Khuldrax lives at the base of the mountain his father lives within, protecting it from any who would intrude, and dealing directly with many of the savage humanoids and giants that the pair have brought under their wing. Khuldrax loves to fight, and will back down only if he is in severe danger of death.
