Dragonshard demo out today!

Hiya all,

Gamespot and Fileplanet have both posted the single player demo for Dragonshard (Eberron-based RTS game) today! It's a 380 MB download, and as I discovered to my chagrin, they are quite serious about requiring DirectX 9 to run ... my poor Radeon 7000 just couldn't cut it...

I have been waiting for this game ever since I heard it was going to be put into production.

Yeah, me too. I expect I will be getting a new computer in the next year or so, so maybe then...

I just bought a new computer as the one I had (being 3 years old) finally died (and I celebrated). Plus I have been craving a new computer, so that I could play Half-Life 2.

Do you know the exact release date of the full version?

I think EBgames was listing it as Sept 21, but that could change.

well I downloaded it and played the demo (thanks for informing me of it by the way)... and so far it get my approval (hoping they change some thigns for the full release).

Gave the first level a quick run through this morning. My first impressions are that it is pretty, and has some neat features, like buying gear for your heroes, the "underdark" maps etc. The interface is a bit off for me... I'd like to have seen it a bit more like Warcraft 3 in the way you can group and manage your troops. If I have a group selected and click on my cleric to heal, for example, all the other troops are unselected, meaning I have to remember or guess which unit I wanted to heal.

That said, I only gave it a very quick play, so perhaps I was missing something. I'm still up for buying the full version when it comes out.

Played a little of the demo, its ok but I wish they had a tutoral to help you get used to things. I felt like I was thrown right into it.
