Drawmij: Honestly, how long did it take you?

A while back (college)? we figured out some of those names. It began when a friend was playing one of the Baldur's Gate/IWD games and commented on "Snilloc's Snowball Swarm" being an anagram of Collins. So we began checking different mage names and found Drawmij...

Am I the only one who figured it out very quickly? It was Gygax / Zagyg that gave it away for me.

someone in my group had already named their first PC after themselves. Syak the Elf. his last name was Kays. everyone thought it was great.
no one reached high enough level to dream of the spells with named writers characters.
so it was probably in late 1981 or so when i bought the rogues gallery.
