That's not spam.

If you don't like Drivethru then don't shop there. Don't spend your first month on these boards posting insults about a new business.

As a general rule, spam refers to "bulk email sent out to no-one in particular without regard to any prior business relationship". Mail from a company with which you've done business and which is directly related to the business you've done with them, isn't spam.

Spam does not mean "any email I didn't want to get". Nor does it mean "any commercial email".

Yeah- exactly. The email you got wasn't spam dude.

Agreed. Sounds like a plan to me. Funk- you've been railing on DTRPG since this started...if you don't like 'em, as Derul- said, just don't shop there. It's easy dude.

Sigh

There will always be a small group that will always slam DTRPG even if they gave away everything for free....

S'allright. Look at WotC, White Wolf, Green Ronin, hell..look outside the gaming industry at Microsoft, Linux (pick your distro), Porcshe, Nissan, Coke, Pepsi...whatever. No company/product/person makes everyone happy. Its just the way it is (and its probably sorta a good thing anyway...it means peeps are thinking for themselves, making up their own minds, and not doing what everyone is doing).

1) I don't recall an "email notifications" setting when I signed up. It may have been there, but unnoticable.
Then you weren't paying attention. Sounds like you're either new to the internet or new to e-commerce.
2) Shouldn't this information be in the email itself.
No, it does not have to be.
3) Shouldn't there be a way to do this without having to login to the DriveThru site? A simple "unsubscribe" reply?
No, there does not have to be.

Trying not to defend Funksaw too much but if his message was authentic then DTRPG does seem to be sending out not only SPAM but illegal SPAM.
