In my Scarred Lands campaign for new players, I have decided that all wooden weapons and sickle-shaped weapons (scythe, sickle, scimitar, etc.) can be used without violating the druidic vows.
In order to balance out the 3rd lvl druid's complaint that the only real missile weapon she had access to was sling, I ended up giving her a +1 sling of Avalanches; three times a day, it will transform a sling stone into a 2d8 boulder. That way she has a "big gun" damage item, but only a limited number of times per day. Fun for both of us.
Mind you, giving out magic items is not the ideal way to fix a possible class flaw, but it seems to have solved her immediate problem (by giving her more options and choices) without requiring a feat.
