Druids with more than one animal companion?

Sravoff

First Post
I was flipping through the 3.5E DM Guide and began reading on epic characters. Under the epic Druid's status block it says this on the subject of animal companion.
"The Druid may have a maximum number of animal companions equal to twice her class level, as normal."

Does it say this in the PHB somewhere? Or is this some misprint or am I reading it wrong?

Thanks

Looks like a copy and paste error from the Epic Level Handbook. Here is the SRD entry.

I believe what you read there is a mistake - it was the original test that was in the 3.0E DMG (and 3.0 DID allow multiple animal companions) but when 3.5 came out, the animal companion rules were changed and I imagine that the particular section of the DMG was not updated.

As for what the SRD is, it's the online source reference document (or something like that) for the D&D rules. Basically, it is the 'basic' stuff from the 3 core rule books. I don't have a link to the website handy but i'm sure someone can provide that if you want it (i think it's also linked at the top of the D&D Rules forum).

System Resource Document. Do a search on Wizard's site and you can download it (Basicly, it's all the open licenced stuff in 3.5 put in a document so anyone can grab it and use it, and is ment to clear up what is definately open and what is not. It's all open domain.

You can find the SRD at www.d20srd.org as well, in a nice hypertexted site.

There are numerous System Reference Documents, but usually folks are referring to the 3E or 3.5E SRD. The 3.5E SRD has material (not everything though!) from the 3.5 PH, DMG, and MM, as well as some stuff from the Expanded Psionics Handbook, and some holdover stuff from the Epic Level Handbook, Manual of the Planes, and Deities & Demigods. The 3.5 SRD can be found at the Wizards of the Coast website, here:
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35

The WotC website also has the Modern SRD, which has various D20 Modern material, including some stuff from Urban Arcana, the Menace Manual, D20 Future, and such.

The 3E SRD can be found here, at the website of the Open Gaming Foundation:
http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/srd.html

The OGF website also has the Anime D20 SRD (produced by Guardians of Order, whose own website includes the Mecha D20 SRD and others), and has links to both the WotC SRD pages and the Action! System SRD.
http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/

Here's the Guardians of Order link to their D20 pages for BESM d20 and Mecha d20. It has 3.0 and 3.5 versions of the Anime D20 SRD it looks like, as well as the Mecha d20 SRD (don't recall if that one's 3.0 or 3.5 oriented though).

Glad to be of help!
