Just realised something playing the wizard. Intoxicated affects checks and attacks. Wizards don't make attacks on most of their spells. Drunken Master Wizards ftw!

A melee drunken wizard casting shocking grasp on metal armoured opponents gets DR 1d6 and the advantage negates the disadvantage for the attack :D

There's three certainties in life: death, taxes, and that the intoxicated condition has been swiftly fixed at development HQ.

After all, we don't want the Moral Majority rising up again and howling about how D&D encourages alcoholism via legions of pickled spellcasters.

It should be temp HP, but I think you are underestimating the impact of having disadvantage on every check. This isn't just a combat game, right?

So they'd fail saves and skill checks a lot... they'd still be tanks that obliterated everything in their path :D

Drunken Wizards don't give a fig newton about your 'reality' and will forge their own!
That settled, how about we convert a spellbook to a massive cup like the Stanley Cup inscribed not with names of winners but spells.
*Rolls vs Wis*
*17!*
*stupid disadvantage*
*Rolls a 2*
This is an awesome idea. I will wear my Tome-Stein as a helmet!
