DSC Games, the creators of Dragon Scale Counters, has released Guardians of the Underhalls as its first pdf product on RPGNow.com.
This 80 page e-book by Eric Price and Matt Smith retails for $6.50 and is for all those who ever imagined something a little different for their subterranean druids. Guardians of the Underhalls (GotU) offers up a new core class variant of the druid, applying the same ritualistic protections of the surface druids into the world below. The book contains far more than a class variant however. Inside are 25 new feats, 8 poisons, and dozens of new spells for the natural world, both above and below the surface of the world. The book also features 5 new prestige classes and a list of animal companions to create unusual spins on the protectors below.
Matt Smith, fellow author of the book had this to say.
"I'm glad that we took the time to finish this book. I thought we were going to get trumped a few times by some of the industry leaders, but ultimately the variant rules we created for this book are unlike any I've seen in the game to date."
While it seems odd to quote myself in my own press release, I would reiterate Matt's thoughts about the variant rules. Even if you DONT have need for a subterranean druid at the moment, the new rules that were created for this book offer new ideas to DMs about how surface druids can be created and the powers that THEY can have. Druids are often stereotyped and overlooked, and this book goes a long way toward enriching the play of the class.
