Dual pike wielding minotaurs

Both Bugbears and Minotaur have this ability:

Oversized: You can use weapons of your size or one size larger than you as if they were your size.

The Ranger's TWF ability says "You can treat a one-handed weapon as if it were an off-hand weapon."

Am I the only one picturing Bugbear and Minotaur rangers wielding two handed weapons in both hands? Even ones with reach? :D

Now, that be both devastating and really cool :) Be neat to see a Minotaur Ranger, like that and of course instead of Nature he take Dungeoneering.

Just on its own the Ranger rule, is a lot of fun. My one player is quite excited to play a Gnoll with two battleaxes.

It's not that they can use two-handed weapons as though they were one-handed, it's that they can use Large sized one-handed weapons as though they were Medium sized one-handed weapons. It's functionally identical, as I believe the damage scales (ie. a Large Longsword does Medium Greatsword damage) except without the Reach or ability to key off of two-handed weapon keywords.

Hahaha.

I can actually see a Minotaur going all Spartan. Dual-wielding longspears. One in an over-hand grip, the other in an underhand grip. Put him in centurian armor and yikes.

Aww. Ruin my fun. ._.

Still, Bugbears and minotaur make great TWF rangers.

Oh well, still get to turn a 1d10 Battleaxe in each hand into 1d12 Battleaxe in each hand.

Though, this will be doable, if/when we get PC Races that are Large. Since they can wield two-handed, Medium weapons as one-handed.

Which means... Giant Two-Weapon Ranger, swinging two Mauls or Greataxes, now that is a scary but also thematically awesome thought.
