Dude Where's My Ring? (DM: garyh, Judge: Ozymandias79)

Mikara, how does your picture look?

Kamotz realizes she has already put it away, and that the Red Boot may have had something to do with that...

Instead he turns, takes a few steps, and address' the local artist.

Oi, May I see a few pieces of your work? I enjoy scene's of death, preferably with tasteful nudity. Although, I heard in Bacarte, that no where on the isle' do the artist's catch a better rendering of Peresefa's last moments. You know the one, with the displacer beast pack lord. Might you have a depiction of said story? I'd prefer the slightly inaccurate version where Peresefa is a beautiful Drow Priestess, unless your Gnome depiction is suitably erotic...

Eagerly awaiting the artist's response, Kamotz begins to reach for his coins.

I'd gladly pay a half gold piece for a small yet detailed depiction.

[sblock=haggle]Kamotz is willing to go all the way up to two gold pieces for an incredibly detailed, and suitably alluring portrait of the incident. [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Sorry for the delay... wanted to give everyone a chance to talk amongst each other. Now, on with the show.[/sblock]
Ribeye handles all comments politely, and questions with a simple nod...

"Oh..." Matilda says with a start, at Morvannon's gesture. She begins trying to scrub away the mark, and only succeeds at making the mess worse.

As the group moves away (and the artist is distracted with her 'cleaning') Kamotz steps in, and begins to browse the collection of works for sale looking for a graphic rendering of Peresefa's demise. He is distracted from his search for more tittalating works... by several different prints of Gwen, with a wide variety of hair & clothing styles.

After seeing the plethora of "Gwen" in the artist pile, Kamotz gets discouraged from his search...

Wandering back to the pack he notice's the man in Red Boots always stays five to ten feet away at any given moment, like he expects trouble from the little search party.

Cheers, that artist doesn't have a Peresefa. The people in the Drowned Man should be hanged publicly for getting a shifter's hopes up like that.

Kamotz leans in and speaks in a low growl.

What the argrgrtist does have is an extensive collection of Gwen, in every outfit, and hairgrgr style, one could imagine.

Mikara looks over at Ribeye.

"I was hoping much
that you would serve as reference
to this Matilda.

Will you help me, or
must I introduce myself
as one, a stranger?"

Mikara walks over to Matilda's booth.

"May I interrupt
this half-breed's terse inquiry
to ask for a job?

This drawing will be
my practical resume.
Tell me what you think."

Mikara hand's Matilda her surreal depiction of the waterfront and proceeds to browse Matilda's collection, stopping at the 3rd or 4th picture of Gwen.

"Could you tell me? Who is this lovely girl?"

Mikara holds up one of the pictures of Gwen.

"May I interrupt

"Hmmph. I think I'll leave you to talk to the rude one, here. Thank you for the information, miss."

Morvannon wanders off to join Magnus, Tristan and Kamotz out of sight of the stall.

"I think she spoke more than she meant to," he mutters. "Apparently Reggie's portrait was done by someone named 'Vinnie', who hasn't been around in a few days. She also said something about 'Gwynyth' and Vinnie's brother Dennis, and mentioned the 'Goghs' and 'Red Boots' -- I didn't really follow that part."

[sblock=OOC to all]If I get this next part a little wrong, I apologize... but, never fear, as it is not intended to harm your characters in any way.

I just need a way to introduce your success, and move y'all along to the next stage *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*[/sblock]
Ribeye watch's with a keen eye as the shifter makes his way toward Tristan and the rest of the group...

[sblock=OOC to Mikara]All Matilda does is hold up her arms & slowly shake her head with her mouth half open... the only thing to escape it is a slight hiss of air. You are not familiar with the gesture, but the fear & resignation is plain for a true predator to read. Perhaps it has to do with the eyes of the 'Redboot' on you both.[/sblock]
..."hmmmm", as one of his eyebrows springs up quizzically...
"Hmmph. I think I'll leave you to talk to the rude one, here. Thank you for the information, miss."

Morvannon wanders off to join Magnus, Tristan and Kamotz out of sight of the stall.
...Ribeye watches the half-elf go off in the same direction as the shifter, and nods his head in self confirmation...

As your group is beginning to discuss the recent events, you spot Ribeye making his way over to you. He seems to be moving so as to be noticed, and there is a grin on his face... he also doesn't seem to be offended when everyone stops talking (which I imagine you'd all do to keep from being overheard). "It sounds like your group is looking for Gwenyth. As I've said before, I'm not at liberty to discuss such affairs... but if you'd come with me, I know someone who might be able to point you in the right direction." Ribeye's grin gets a little wider, "Oh, and don't be mistakin' my friendliness for a request... cause the boss'll surely wanna talk to yous."
[sblock=status]Success!!!!!!!!!!!![/sblock]

Kamotz draws himself up to full height, several pops are heard as his vertebrae align, taking him from an even five foot five, all the way to six feet.

Smiling broadly, his sharp elongated canine teeth beam from behind thin lips.

[sblock=Trained in Nature] It's not just any smile, it's baring teeth. [/sblock]

He stands stock still, hackles up, never breaking eye contact with the little man in Red Boots.

[sblock=Trained in Nature] This is the natural warning posture of a dog or wolf. Unless diffused or distracted, escalation occurs quickly[/sblock]

Silent.

[sblock=OOC] Yay! success! Someone with the ability to overlook veiled threats will have to reply to Ribeye, the Shifter doesn't have enough sense.

Readied action if Ribeye makes another threatening gesture (theat or attack) before one of the pack diffuse kamotz (steps in and specifically distracts Kamotz, or removes Ribeye, or Ribeye apologizes), Righteous Brand on Ribeye... [/sblock]

The disheveled dwarf looked up from his strange scratchings in the dirt, Hehehe...nice boots...red boots

Magnus waggled the toes sticking out of his rag wrapped feet, before wandering into the space between between the shifter and Ribeye.

So good you understand...we don't have a choice...one shouldn't struggle against thier own path...

...at least that's what She tells me..., he mumbled.

Kamotz notices the mad dwarf stand in between him and the Red Booted threat to the pack.

After hearing Magnus words Kamotz looks down, and shuffles his feet a bit, deflating from his former state. Bowing a bit in deference to Magnus, Kamotz begins to speak.

You're right Magnus, I misinterpreted the man in Red Boots...

Kamotz is still weary and distrustful of the Red Boot, but no longer seems on the verge of attack, instead he stands with his body parallel to Ribeye, and keeps one eye on him.

[sblock=OOC] Thanks Oni!

Kamotz Total Defense, and tries to pace the Red Boot along the way, if he starts to fall behind he drops the guard just long enough to catch up.[/sblock]
