dumb premise for a game - Medieval Aliens

An alternative interpretation of the term "medieval aliens" is where the native extraterrestrials are medieval with starfaring humans visiting their planet.

GURPS (of course) did at least one gaming supplement: GURPS Planet Krishna, based on stories by L Sprague de Camp.

Y’know, the aliens don’t necessarily have to come from another planet, at least not in the traditional sense.

1) They could come from another, parallel dimension- as differentiated from other planes of reality within the same dimension. Sliders had that, and the MCU’s Multiverse titles seem to be doing OK. In this kind of scenario, the aliens don’t even need to be particularly advanced; there just needs to be a portal(s) of some kind.

2) They could be time travelers instead of or in addition to being interplanetary aliens. There is already precedent for that in some versions of the Illithids. And Julian May’s Saga of the Exiles uses it as well. See also the Sleestak from Land of the Lost.

3) They could be beings caught in stasis for eons of time and forgotten, re-emerging to find their planet overrun by strange creatures. Doctor Who plays with this a bit with The Silurians and the Sea Devils.

Definitely plenty of examples of that concept to be sure. Half the gods in Fate/Grand Order are aliens. I think the Assassin's Creed franchise works on this premise (as much as I enjoy the general gameplay of them, I've never actually managed to finish any of the games). Stargate definitely does the "aliens caused Earth stuff to happen) thing.

If you want something not Earth, but "aliens in fantasy," Dragonstar's base premise has a galaxy spanning dragon empire that colonizes less advanced fantasy worlds.
