Dundjinni adventure creation?

We are in the final stages of development and expect to release it by the end of May.

Surely you aren't implying that a software company missed its release date!

;)

Kidding aside, thanks. Any word when they plan to release it?

Released to the web shortly after midnight last night. Store is closed now to allow those with preorders to download it. I got my copy around 3 a.m. this morning and am very impressed with it.

The adventure creation piece of it is very easy to use. Take some time playing with the options available before you leap into that aspect of it, though. So far, I've seen no major issues with it, other than the fact that Java is a resource hog :). If you write your own stuff, it's definitely worth checking out.

I'm looking for something that helps me write proffessional looking adventures. Something that prompts me for things like: "Background" "synopsis" "character Hooks" "Encounter 1" "Encounter 2" "Concluding the Adventure" etc. with drag and drop stats for monsters, traps, items etc.

Once it's finished, I could have it "compile" the data into a printable adventure.

Can Dundjinni do something similar?

Very similar! Check out the free demo. Right-click on objects to bring up d20 stats and descriptions. Right-click on a room key for "read aloud", "description", "developments", etc. On the menu there is a "Story" option which has a dialog for all the pre-adventure stuff. Then do a print preview.

Dundjinni Adventure

I've been playing around with Dundjinni Gold's adventure creation for a couple of weeks now. You can output your adventure data in either HTML or XML format. The default HTML output is just one, long HTML page with everything included on it. Not terribly easy to work with, imo.

The program covers just about every detail you would want to include in an adventure. I've really been impressed with it. Could the app use some more work? Yes, but it's only version 1.0. It already has a lot of features, and most of those features are implemented very well.

All of the HTML output is XSL driven. So, if you don't like the way a particular piece of information is displayed, you can just modify the XSL file. It's a really nice feature. I've been working on a custom output for my adventures that includes a tree view. You can view a sample adventure here.

I've only tested the above adventure with IE 6.0, so I can't be certain it will work with other browsers.

I'm currently polishing up all of the XSL files I've created. When I'm finished, I'll package them all up into a zip file that anyone can download and use.
