Dundjinni opinions

I've been eyeing Dundjinni of late, specifically for producing fancy battle-maps. I'm happy using a pencil for world maps. :) Anyone want to share their opinions about it? How has it performed for you?

I'll be using it on a PowerMac (dual G5, 1GB RAM), FWIW.

It is a little slow and you need a good amount of RAM. I like it but I wish that it was better in terms of world maps. I realize it isn't necessarily designed to do this but I wish it was. I have some addon packs and I would suggest getting the campaign one if you intend to use it for a world. It certainly helps although it still lacks there.

Other than that I think it is a pretty good product. A little difficult to learn but once you have a good grasp of the concepts making maps goes fairly quick and they look amazing.

There is a dundjinni user group on yahoo groups I would suggest hanging out there. Some of the users there are pretty amazing.

It's a great product for Tactical maps. Either for use by the DM or to print out in 1 inch squares for miniature gaming.

It is not a great product for world mapping. In fact, I would say it isn't suited for that at all. (some may disagree)

I actually love it and use it all the time, but for tactical mapping, rooms, encounter areas, etc.

Game ON!

Not me. I am right there with you. I definitely doesn't feel like a good product for world mapping. In fact if anyone has used it for that and thought it was good I would like to hear about it. Maybe I am doing something wrong and I just don't know it?

If you are making encounter maps then it is great. I also have heard that many people project the images from a computer onto their playing surface. I would love ot try this but I need a projector first. And a better playing area.

My primary interest is encounter maps, so I don't mind any shortcomings in the world-mapping department. None of the other mapping products will run on Mac OS anyway, so it's kind moot for me. :)
