Dundracon

This'll be my first year attending DunDraCon, though I've been meaning to go since moving to SJC in 2000.

I'll be there on Saturday, probably wearing my Robert Gould Elric t-shirt....

I'll be participating in a few seminars and loitering around the Hero booth and in Open Gaming. I don't know if Green Ronin has a booth at the show.

Not this year they're not, according to nikchick. I'll be there with Mr. Harlick though, for whatever that's worth.

I will be in the bar area this evening around 6:30pm... as well as running several games in the Open Gaming area.

You must be Beaver who I was introduced to at the bar around 8 PM last night. I was with the group around the tables next to the bar. Greetings again. :)

I found the dealer offerings lackluster

HIJACK RANT: I'm finding clueless middleman vendors that put appearing knowledgeable and in control ahead of actually helping out the potential customer base, well, it's driving my business further towards exclusively ordering items online. Cheaper, faster, no car salesman BS.

I found none of the following books on my "investigate and/or buy" list:

Out of the Vaults
Conan - The RPG
Deluxe DM's screen
Atlas of the Walking Dead
Unearthed Arcana
d20 Weapons Locker

I found it pretty insulting when the vendor that stocked Mongoose Publishing books (well, three of them) on his shelves chose to lie to me instead of answering my question directly; I asked him if he was familiar with the new Conan book and he informed me that it wasn't out yet since it's street date is "early March". Oh, and he had read some preview material and it looks really great and he would be happy to order it for me if I'd just give him some information...

Anyway, the other parts of the convention have been fairly tame thus far. I've enjoyed the gaming, that's for sure.

Well, Sunday evening was a bust, at least for my group of friends. My friend's game was cancelled from lack of interest, though I sort of anticipated a problem would arise.

But hopefully everybody had fun. The die hards I'm sure will be reluctant to leave even tomorrow afternoon. :)

There was one vendor there that had both the Conan RPG and Unearthed Arcana, however, he sold out in less than an hour on Saturday morning.
