Dungeon #117 has arrived

Tyrant of the Trail by John Simcoe
At the heart of the Vesve Forest lies the warped, twisted region of deadly bogs, acidic gases, and treacherous terrain known as the Defiled Glades. And from the Defiled Glades hops King Bog, a titanic awakened toad with a taste for player characters. A D&D adventure for 14th-level characters.
FYI to all: "Tyrant of the Trail" was renamed "Throne of Iuz" after Dungeon assistant editor James Jacobs and I decided that the title was no longer appropriate after the editing and rewriting were completed. I guess we decided too late for this promo piece though.
Best,
John Simcoe

But it still has the awakened titanic toad, right?

Grrrf. I still haven't recieved #116 yet. I'll give it until the end of the month, then write them.
My #116 has not arrived yet, either. I, too, am planning to wait until the end of the month before asking "what's going on?".

Dunno if it's related, but I didn't get my #116 until a week ago, and last night, #117 arrived.... less than a week later.

A bit odd, if you ask me.

"Throne of Iuz" does indeed still feature the titanic awakened angry PC-killing surly toad. The name change did indeed happen too late to get the previous issue's preview corrected; this happens every once in a while. My personal favorite is back in issue #91. I was still finishing off "Razing of Redshore" and didn't have a title for it when Chris Thomasson needed a title for the previews on page 109. I came up with "Moby Druid" on the spot, thinking he'd never print such a goofy title. Lesson learned = never underestimate Chris Thomasson's ability to humiliate late authors!

 I like that title better, if you ask me.

Box of Flumph by Tim Hitchcock
It had to happen. Of all the creatures in the history of Dungeons & Dragons, the lowly flumph has perhaps the worst reputation.

This looks cool. Being I started in '89, the Flumph has no connotation attached to it, only what I've seen others write about it. I look foreward to this.

Flumphs? It's official -- I'm renewing my subscription. I love you guys. :)

I couldn't agree more. (Though, as I like getting my issues sort of on time, I won't get a submission. I'll just buy every issue from my FLGS).

FLUMPHS!

Cheers!
