Dungeon #141

I'm probably late to the party on this observation, but as one of the apparently few fans of downer I got to say I love the name of the shop in the 1st frame of the comic!

Is anyone currenly or soon to be running The Sea Wyvern's Wake? I plan to run it in the future and have a couple of issues / questions.

can't wait to have a look at it! :) unfortunately, waiting is probably precisely what i will have to do. ;)

Well, I finally got it today, and I'm in love with it's set up. It's definately free-wheeling, and "dungeon-lite", which is a must. I have a few minor places where I'll be making changes (Tamoachan is getting expanded upon, and I have a mini-adventure in mind involving a lizardfolk tribe). I really like the role-playing advice - there are numerous RP scenes, and I really like how the characters are developing.

*Spoilers ahead*

I'm thinking of moving the scenes involving Rowyn towards episode 2, however. I need a mini-adventure for next session, because half my group can't make it, and I think a small quest involving tracking her down might just be the way to go. I know two PCs should be able to take her on (they did last time, and Gut Tugger was involved!), so it should be alright. Maybe something involving her trying to put together a new guild?

I really like the scene involving the Wyverns following the ship: that was perfect, and it really caught my imagination. Kudos for that one, Rich. The scene with the Slaad is also pretty cool; I'm definately going to play on the "aliens" feel. ONe thing I really like about this adventure (and would like to see in more adventures) is how it's loosely set up - there's not a whole lot of boxed text to run with, and the scenes are sort of loosely organized. While I think there'll be more homework on my part, I think the reward will be more than worth it.

Anyways, I give it 10/10. Not as much Tamoachan content as I would've liked, but it's pretty much what I expected.

How about a jailbreak scene, or even a breakout from the courthouse as the PCs wait to give testimony? Perhaps her family anonymously hire an opposing adventuring group to spring her and take her safely out of the city without directly involving their name. With the PCs in hot pursuit, the group hole up in one of those intriguingly-named locations on the Bullywug Gambit area map, and after a bit of dungeon crawling and a final confrontation, the party either kill or capture Rowyn. If they capture her, or if her rescuers buy her enough time to completely escape, then she shows up as scheduled in Sea Wyvern's Wake.

Thanks to the Paizo guys for putting up the web expansion for issue 139. Looks great. The pics are so much better now they are not so dark.

Any news on the Eberron conversion notes?

Hm. A trial scene... could work. I like the idea of starting the session off with the PCs giving testimony - think I'll steal that.
