Not at all!

Charon is "only" a CR 22 creature, but he's actaully a bit trickier than that. As in... no one really wants to mess with Charon, because killing him only makes him tougher...

As for Orcus; he gets his stat block in #149 also (along with two cool pictures!). He's CR 32, for those who were wondering, which is where he fits according to the Demonomicon articles.

(Braces for the backlash that even at CR 32, some folk will want a tougher Orcus...)

I think what has become readily apparent with the Demon Prince stats is that you'll always be pissing someone off.

CR 32 is fine for me (since my opinion is paramount of course!), but still might be a bit too high for my tastes (not a fan of epic level play really), but I'm not complaining!

Is it bad if I'm more excited about Charon's stats than Orcus's?

I need to start going to toes to count all of the different Orcus stats I've seen over the past five years. Charon, on the other hand, is more exotic, closer to the mythological precedent, and a yugoloth to boot.

So yeah, I'm pretty excited too.

Think of all of them as different aspects of Orcus to use, heh.

Excited about Charon and Orcus' stats in Dungeon...now if only Dragon Magazine does a "redux" on a 3.5E version of the Lords of Chaos article in issue #221, then the magazines would definitely be going out with a bang.

Would love me some Ygorl to wreak some havoc in my campaign. I personally think he's awesome thanks to his debut in the PS2 game "FORGOTTEN REALMS: Demonstone", even though his original form was a strange "grim reaper" look...I like his new one much better! One heck of a bad ass. (er, chaotic ass, I mean)

I wouldn't concern yourself with the backlash. I've come to terms with you not making him higher than CR 32. In any case I want to see EVERYTHING that comes out of this path when it finally is all said and done.

ESPECIALLY the stats for powers of the Abyss and beyond.

Yeah, CR 32 for Orcus seems decent enough for me and I'm a DM that enjoys epic-level gaming. Of course, tripling his HD, increasing SR, and applying the Paragon template make him all the more interesting for epic-level PCs...heh heh

Absolutely not! I'm about 1,000 times more excited to finally see an "uberloth" appearance in this edition than another in a long line of stats for the Prince of Undeath. Not that there's anything wrong with Orcus, mind you, but plenty of cool unique fiends still await an update.

I got my issue yesterday. Wow! Talk about going out on top. That wasn't just an adventure...it was a Fiendish Codex appendix!

James, you and the rest of the team should offer your services to Hollywood to help TV shows and flagging movie franchises figure out their exit stategies.

Let me be clear,

I'm not against seeing others or even having more PS goodness in this adventure path. I just want people to see Orcus and say "Yeah man he's deserving of a Demon Prince rating." Kind of deal.

Charon sounds pretty bad ass no matter his CR rating.
