You know that thing that happens sometimes when you're driving and your mind wanders and all the sudden you think, whoa, I can't actually remember driving? (It's called Highway Hypnosis I believe.)
Maybe the same thing happens when you scroll through multiple pages looking for a post... Maybe we could call it Forum Fantasmation or something.

It's a little creepy when that happens - and it can even happen if you're driving a bike. Especially as a kid when I drove to school and reached a bridge I had to cross I often wondered "huh - what did I do the past 4 km?)

Yeah creepy it is... I used to have to cross a bridge everyday on my way to work... I'd often "pop out of it" just as I was pulling into the tollbooth... "Whoa... Gotta get my wallet out..."
Supposedly it's not dangerous though. Your mind is still very aware of its surroundings, it's just not keeping track of it for future use. But if a problem happens (ie the guy in front of you slams on his brakes) you will react just as quickly as if you weren't in highway hypnosis.
Could be that someone posted in it between you looking at page 1 and looking at page 2. That would bump it up to the top again.Weird, I went through to pager4 even. I must be blind.

On a side note, traffic in the forum must be really sky high. One afternoon, I was lurking in one thread on the 1st page, few hours later it was probably cluttered somewhere between 3rd of 4th page....
