Dungeon/Poly #95

So is Eric on a special distribution where he always get his first?

I subscribe and it seems I always see post from Eric about getting his 2 or 3 days before mine gets here.

Anyway, is it time for Poly to go away? I'd prefer the subscription price drop a couple bucks an issue.

Well, I can't speak for Eric, but perhaps geographic location has something to do with it. I get my issue of DRAGON the same day or the following day that Aitch Eye posts his rundowns, and he and I (and Eric, too) are in the Midwest. (I think the magazines are sent out from somewhere in Illinois, but don't quote me.) You Colorado location *might* account for the day or two extra needed for your to get your issue.

Of course, I might be wrong, and it's just the Postal Fairies in your area don't materialize your mail quickly enough. Your choice. :)

Bwah ha ha! Just try living on the other side of the Atlantic. Believe me, the word "days" doesn't even figure into it! :D

It'll be interesting to see how much conversion is necessary between D20 Modern and D&D. My guess is the main issues will be hp vs. wound/vitality, AC vs. Defense/DR, and is there a metric vs. standard issue as well? Not sure...

Actually, d20 Modern is going to use hit points. Check out Charles Ryan's comments on the WotC d20 Modern board.

I always seem to get my issue (I subscribe) several days after the first reviews go up, like five to seven days!

I live in Massachusetts, that may have something to do with it.

This is extra painful this issue, as I cannot wait to see Mecha Crusade!!!

BTW, I use the Poly side all of the time, and the Dungeon side on occasion. I run all sorts of D20 campigns, including D&D, and Dungeon/Poly is the best value on the market (for eclectic GMs like me, at least).

And to underscore a point RobNJ made, I love miniatures, and have thousands. I therefore have no need for the monster counters found in Dungeon. But, strangely, I don't think they should be removed. If they help sell the magazine, that's fine by me!

Um, anyone need some counters?

let me preface this by saying i love dungeon. but what the hell is with the "sealed section" stuff! were you supposed to just slit it down the middle? i made a horrid mess of my mag by cutting it out with an exacto knife.

That postman has always looked a little suspicious.

And I'm still waiting for my mag. So the count is 1 day so far.

Feel sorry for me! I haven't even received my issue of Dragon #300 yet. :(

I feel more sorry for Morrus and all our friends overseas though, but seeing all the debate over an issue for 3 weeks and not having said issue is pretty sucky.

I'm not hijacking this thread into another #300 thread...I'm not hijacking this thread into another #300 thread...I'm not hijacking this thread into another #300 thread... I'm not. So don't start. :)

I always get mine on the same day and I live in Kentucky.

Since I'm on the subject, here's an interesting little bit of news:

At the beginning of Poly, Osseum has a two-page add showing off their October and november releases, one of which is our own resident dwarf, Wulf Ratbane's, own Heroes of High Favor: Half-Orcs. Mmmmm.

I live in the midwest too, and while I usually get Dragon right away, Dungeon never shows up until at least a week or even two after people start posting about it on here.

I just figure it's one of those mysteries of the universe.
